I love how you call creativity your refuge. Your words made my creative side smile:)

Hi Martha, I am new to your writing and loved this piece. It aligns with my own writing, and I would love to connect with you, so I subscribed. I have always admired people who can knit beautiful things. I can see how it's a form of meditation. When you fully step into presence, you are in eternity. Now becomes enough. And you soon realize that the future will take care of itself. Thank you for sharing this.

That's such a tender piece — I love that she doesn't force her way back to creativity, she just follows the blanket, stitch by stitch, until the not-knowing melts away. "Knit myself back into existence" says it all. Carried with care!

I made a white one too, and ordered green and purple! I’ll be busy this winter 😊

For me too, best place for staying "in the moment" is making something, being on another planet, found object artworks, choosing parts, when to move pieces, when it feels just right, how to secure the story, hinted at or shouted out. And being in the garden, too, of course! Getting to both today and will be thinking of you, dear Martha.

Have you read Making a Life? My favorite book these days. I am rereading it.
